If you see a resemblance between this young beauty and the one in my last post, there’s a reason. Becky is a younger sister to Laura and, like her sister, modeled this custom-made vintage dress at a fashion show for little girls. After selecting these dresses for Laura and Becky to wear, I felt a huge wave of satisfaction that I properly guessed their sizes and identified the dresses that most suited them. When I started my blog giveaway, I earmarked this dress for Becky, knowing it would be in the hands of someone who both admired it and brought out its beauty.
As a slightly more mischievous version of her older sister, Becky always impressed me with the favorable things she said about her siblings. So great was their friendship that there wasn’t a hint of rivalry between them. At one point I tapped Becky to help me complete a short bio of her sister for our fashion show. She gave me a complete rundown of her sister’s best attributes! Becky is a high school junior and a gifted artist who paints fabulous murals. Like the rest of her family, she’s smart, kind, and diligently practices her faith every day. I haven’t seen her since this summer, but from what I read on her Facebook page lately, she’s pretty busy figuring out where to attend college.
Now, for details about my next vintage giveaway!
There are two other pieces up for grabs in The Black Beauty Giveaway. If this evening gown doesn’t suit you, check out the 1960s Dress Coat and the 1966 Dupioni Silk Cocktail Dress. You can enter by subscribing to the blog if you haven’t already or sharing a recent post via social media. All that helps me continue this work and I’m greatly appreciative for your help!
Then read the full description to make sure the dimensions work for you and add a comment explaining why you’re interested in this garment. I’ll draw the winners on Wednesday, October 17. I can’t help thinking of certain people I know who would look great in these vintage pieces.
