When I read that quote painted onto Kurt Vonnegut’s writing desk, I saw a very wide chasm between his philosophy and mine. When I wear something for the first time, I’m on top of the world with happiness.

Laying in bed last night, thinking about the new library in Indianapolis that bears his name, I wondered, “Yes, but Kurt, would you still feel that way if you knew the clothes would benefit your good name? Or if the new clothes were actually old clothes?”
